As most of you know, I lost my dear wife Elizabeth to a heart attack late last year. It was totally unexpected and illustrated how fragile life can be.

Together with my colleagues in the band SG4, we have organised a Music Festival called ‘Heartstock’ to be held at The Red Lion on Sunday 3rd July starting at 1pm and going on into the evening. The day is to be a celebration of her life and will act as a fundraiser for the British Heart Foundation.

Alongside SG4, we will be fortunate to be joined by other local bands and musicians who all knew Lizzie and are giving up their weekend for what I think is a very worthy cause. More information on the line-up will follow.

Ray and Jo will be arranging for delicious food to be served all day to give you a break from preparing Sunday lunch.

We expect to attract attendees from outside the village so, in addition to The Red Lion car park, Preston Primary School are kindly allowing us to use their grounds for parking which we hope will prevent any congestion in the village. If you have friends or family joining you that weekend, then please let them know that this parking is available to use.

I hope you will be able to join us for what promises to be a great day and help to raise money for a very important cause.
