Fundraising ideas

As well as using your tribute page to collect donations, you can use it to organise or take part in an event in memory of your loved one. You can do this by creating an event page.

You can speak to your local fundraising manager for ideas and support – they can help suggest what type of event might be right for you and explain what support we can offer.

Marking anniversaries in your loved one’s life is a powerful reminder that when lives are lost, they are not forgotten.

Taking on a personal challenge like a trek, bike ride or swim, or cutting out something like chocolate or digital devices, can create an amazing story to tell that celebrates the memory of your loved one.

Organising events such as a pub quiz, sports tournament or themed dinner party are good ways to get started with fundraising, by bringing people together to celebrate the memory of your loved one in a small gathering.

You can share your tribute page with family and friends by email or social media – share the link to your tribute page or event page – all money you collect adds up to the main total.

You can find fundraising ideas and free downloadable resources in the fundraising section of our website.

"2021 will mark 10 years since we lost Daniel to a cardiac arrest due to undiagnosed heart failure. Fundraising in his memory has helped keep him close to our hearts. Over the years we’ve had so many events like our annual golf day and music events to keep his memory alive. We’ve raised almost £70,000 so far and our tribute page for Daniel has helped collect donations from family and friends all over the world. We hope we can carry on fundraising and collecting money to mark milestones in Daniel’s life. We’re really proud that the money we raise in his memory will play a role in every breakthrough the BHF makes for years to come."
