Harry was one of the happiest young men I've had the pleasure to meet, yet alone teach. He never passed without a smile and made a concerted effort to say hello from across the School grounds. I had the privilege of teaching him AS Literature and was always thrilled with his dedication and perseverance. His sudden passing came as a terrible, deeply felt shock, and left a hole that will never be filled, at School, in his friendship groups and obviously, within his family.

I'm very lucky to have known such a charming young man and am keen to give something back. That is why I am raising money for Harry's Gift of Hope. I am challenging myself to complete 17 Hero (aka painful and gruelling) CrossFit WODs in one month, from 17th November to 17th December, as a reminder of the tender age at which Harry sadly left us.

I'd like to push myself harder and do a hero a day, but work and toddler commitments means 17 will be pushing it! Instead, I will endeavour to keep the weights high and the movements as quick as I can, with PBS wherever possible.
Mostly, I intend to suffer a lot of pain and would really appreciate people giving as much money as they can to see me do so. The final workout will be named Harry, created in his memory, that I will complete every year around his birthday. This will be a whole gym event and we encourage anyone to come down to Qdos and see this take place. I know for a fact Harry wouldn't have been there - he'd think we were all a bunch of nutters!

The workouts will be posted (in an edited fashion - because, trust me, they will get boring) on YouTube. I would be so happy for any contribution so we could save another young man who, just like Harry, brought magic to the lives of those around him.
