Billy was a husband, dad, brother and fab grandad. He was a typical working class bloke, loved having a pint in his local and a good friend to his pals. He loved his car and most of all proud owner of his shed and tools. Billy had a heart condition (aortic stenosis) for around 5 years which needed open heart surgery. He became poorly with breathing problems recently, admitted to hospital but the day after rushed over to the Freeman Hospital for surgeons to perform urgent heart surgery. Sadly just as Billy was being prepped for surgery he suffered a heart attack and passed away - Wednesday, 23rd January 2019. Billy was only 65 when he passed and declined so very quickly. He did have plans to lead a healthier lifestyle such as give up smoking before he passed but this came too late. Billy was the type of person to say to someone "don't make the same mistakes, just look at me". The hardest part of this is that Billy didn't want to die but he had just put too much pressure on his heart. The family would love to give hope anf life to other families in a similar position and aiming for one day the NHS to be able to help people with heart conditions faster, with research be able to work on preventative measures; as well educating people about healthy lifestyles. The family encorage donations to this charity in memory of Billy with the hope that everyone improves their lifestyle and most importantly just to make the most of each minute. He was here one minute and in the blink of an eye - gone. Just make the most of each day, look after your health and always make the time for your loved ones. (Anyone who wishes to send flowers for the funeral we would ask if you could consider making a small donation to this charity instead, many thanks).
