Maurice was a very gentle and kind man. A devoted husband, loving father and father-in-law, a fantastic grandfather and great grandfather; brother and brother in law, uncle and friend to many. Always a kind word; ready to help out; adored spending time with his grandchildren (and great grandchildren). Some may remember him for his football career (Old Scholars; Matlock Town to name a few) and later in life for his cricketing prowess at St Matthews. His next foray into the world of sport was golf, he enjoyed playing all the local courses and was a regular for many years at Rugeley Power Station. He could never pass a pub or working men's club in the locality without telling a tale of the people and characters he had met there in his time working at Britvic and later at Horizon Soft Drinks. A man with such a big heart, needed to have a bypass operation 6 years ago and a pacemaker fitted and these gave him a new lease of life and enabled him to spend time watching us all grow up (yes even Ian). He got to spend time with Lili (only granddaughter (yet) and to see his great grandchildren - a phenomenal feat, and so this is why he would have wanted donations to BHF, so that we can all, in memory, help others. Thank you for giving
