Irene Grice
Irene was a force of nature working from the age of 14 well into her 95th Year.
Irene was a much loved Mother Grandmother and Great Grandmother.
She started work in 1944 at the age of 14 and worked well into her 95th Year. She was well known to all the customers in Morrisons Solihull where she worked in the bakery for many years. This was formally known as Safeway and before that she worked as the manageress in Elisabeth the Chef Drury Lane Solihull. Irene started her working life in the grocery shop George Mason in Acocks Green.
Whilst working at Morrisons she also had a cleaning job at Solihull Council in the evenings until she suffered a stroke in January.
She sadly passed away on the 4th June in a Care home in Solihull.
Her husband Horace had two heart attacks and died in 1993 this is the reason she asked us to set up donations to the Heart foundation when she passed away.
Irene truly was a force of nature.
