John had his first heart attack aged 53 and after that would regularly donate to the British Heart Foundation. He was very aware of the impact of heart and circulatory disease on a personal level and supported the BHF to aid their research into heart disease and the work they do to support those impacted by the cardiac problems. They also do vital work to educate people on cardiac health and provide training on CPR and life-saving equipment.
