She was beautiful, kind and cheeky. Mum lived for her family, small circle of friends and her beloved little dog, Woody. She loved walking, eating and having a laugh. Right up to the end, she was still totally independent and dearly loved.

For someone who had such a big heart and love to give, it almost seems ironic that it was to be her heart that would finally fail her.

On 4th October 2016, against all odds, Mum survived a burst ascending aortic aneurysm. This was thanks to the skilled and dedicated surgical specialist heart team at St Bart's Hospital in London. Mr Yap and his team worked tirelessly throughout the night and saved her life.

Mum was living a full and happy life right up until the end. She was always grateful and aware of how lucky she was (we were aware of how lucky we were).

Please consider donating to the British Heart Foundation in Mum's honour instead of buying flowers. If we could help even just one more person to be saved by enabling more research into heart health, we would feel that it honours Mum in the most appropriate way.
