Peter Swaby
Peter Swaby was a kind, loving family man with a wife, daughters, grand children and great grand children. He was hard working and had a passion for sports, especially running. Peter would regularly run three or four times per week. Over the years he participated in numerous events including 5K, 10K, half marathons and marathons. He completed over 400 Park runs in his 60's and was still enjoying these when he entered his 70's. He relished in keeping fit and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
Unfortunately Peter was rushed into hospital in August 2023 and required emergency theatre for a twisted bowel. He had further operations, procedures and treatments over the following months before losing his battle in December 2023.
Looking back Peter did have some signs; his running diaries indicate stomach pain and he had sought medical advice regarding this previously. There were also known heart issues with him and other immediate family members.
All donations received in memory of Peter are going to the British Heart Foundation in respect of the valuable research being completed. Peter's family are also keen to raise awareness of ischaemic bowel symptoms.
