Robert was a hardworking family man, who inherited a predisposition to heart problems.

Robert James Collingridge, 1 June 1947 - 24 June 2024. Robert joined the family business in Covent Garden - J Collingridge Ltd (flower, fruit and veg wholesalers) - after finishing his A-levels. He soon met and married Eleanor and had four children - Graham, Gwen, Geraint and Greg.After starting his married life in North Wales running a hectic small holding in the middle of nowhere, Robert moved his family to Yorkshire as he headed up Florimex Manchester until 1993. He then started his own business, with some amazing employees at his side, and moved to Portugal. Vineform ran from 1993 - 2004. He and his wife moved to France for 10 years to En Darde (AKA the pink palace), and returned to Portugal after open heart surgery left him with vascular dementia in 2018. Elley looked after him for a further 3 years, through covid before he moved back to the UK and spent the remainder of his time at Heron Hill in Kendal to be near his family. Robert died on June 2024, in Lancaster hospital following a stroke, where he was surrounded by his whole family. To others Robert was a life-long gentle friend, but to his family he was caring and loving always. He loved his animals, especially his dogs who were always at his side. In his memory, we'd like to contribute money to the British Heart Foundation, so they can continue to do their great work and improve people's lives with vascular dementia.
