Simon was a man of integrity, deeply loyal to his family and hardworking. He was very talented with his hands and loved making things. At work he was at his best in engineering and at home he used to say, "I can make that out of wood". Simon greatly valued his time in the prison service, earning the respect and friendship of many colleagues. His passion for motorbikes and cars was evident, and his motorbike was always his pride and joy. He enjoyed riding with friends and occasionally with Linda on the back. His stepchildren saw him as a great teacher and someone to look up to, and many remember Simon fondly for his wicked and dry sense of humour. Though he didn't drink much, he appreciated a good tot of whisky. Above all, Simon deeply loved Linda and was very thankful to have her by his side until the end. Simon will be greatly missed. He was loyal, intelligent, inquisitive, and funny. Rest in peace, Simon.
