This Page is dedicated to my beloved grandfather Soteris Prodromou, who passed away on the 3rd January 2024. He was a very loved, Father, Grandfather & Great grandfather. He will be truly missed.

Born in Singrassi Cyprus on the 22nd July 1938. He arrived in England by ship in the late 50s where he married my late grandmother Maria. They had 3 Children together Chris, Paul & Thekla, who gave them 8 Grandchildren. We lost my grandmother Maria on the 18th December 2003, leaving my grandfather widowed for just over 20 years.

My grandfather was always surrounded by friends & family. Later down the line he was blessed with two beautiful great grandchildren who he loved so much and always spoke about.

The years without my grandmother, my grandfather joined many different activity clubs to keep himself busy. He signed up to a computing course, joined a tea club, began fitness classes and was an active helper at the local Greek Orthodox Church. He met many friends along the way which gave him an exceptional social life right to the very end.

On the 6th August 2012, he underwent a tricuspid valve replacement and had to be resuscitated. Thankfully he pulled through and made a recovery. He later had another cardiac arrest on the 9th November 2012 and survived that too.

As of recent, his health started to rapidly deteriorate, but he was determined to visit his beloved Cyprus one last time. His final dream of going to Cyprus was accomplished, where he got to spend some time with his sister and other family members.

Shortly after, he was admitted into hospital for 2 weeks, where we found out that his heart and kidneys were failing. Although He was going through this ordeal, he would always smile and sing whilst he was in hospital and wouldn’t let anything bring down his spirit. Thankfully he would come home from hospital and spend Christmas with his family, where we ate, drank and laughed. This will be a Christmas that we will all truly treasure forever.

The 3rd of January 2024, my grandfather passed away peacefully in his sleep aged 85.
We thank him for his dedication, love and loyalty to all of us, he will be remembered so fondly.
