Steve was a beautiful soul, always seeing the best in others. A selfless, dedicated man, he gave his time freely-whether through writing, teaching, or football. Steve's legacy of kindness, strength and inspiring nature will live on.

Six years ago, Steve was diagnosed with heart failure and dilated cardiomyopathy. Initially, he thought he had a chest infection. Although his local hospital conducted some tests, neither he nor his family understand the symptoms of heart failure or the urgency to follow up on the results. Unfortunately, eighteen months passed without clarity, and Steve's condition worsened-he experienced rapid weight gain and struggled to breathe. It was then that he learned of his heart condition.Steve's heart failure required constant management with a complex regimen of medications, taken morning, noon, and night, each with its own side effects. He underwent countless tests and procedures, and eventually, his health declined to the point where he needed to be placed on the heart transplant list, and in April 2024, he was the recipient of a replacement heart. As a family, we urge everyone who knew and loved Steve to help us raise funds for the British Heart Foundation. Together, we can support thir efforts too improve research, develop better medications, and achieve better outcomes for heart failure patients. Heart failure never defeated Steve as a person, but it ultimately took him from us, as it has done to thousands of others. Please join us in supporting this vital cause.
